「沒有武器, 但有反抗」, 即是甚麼呢?叫救命?準備按救命鐘?無論如何, 在911事件十年祭到來之前, 美國得竟全功 , 成殺追殺拉登,大仇得報。
消息傳出, 大批大國公民走上街開香檳慶祝,我懷疑當中有多少人是911的受害者 , 親人被害那種痛楚,就算沉冤得雪, 也不能抵銷, 死結不會因而解開, 只會像烙下封印, 暫且告一段落,但遺憾是永恆的, 這枝香檳怎開得落手?
美國當局逐步將殺人的過程披露, 那一張白宮上下在戰況室, 監察殺人經過的相片, 如一張劇照。不知是否因為我看過整套「白宮群英」及“24“, 美軍突擊, 總統和幕僚進行會議, 此等場面已一早看慣;所披露的殺拉登過程也如電影的情節,沒有驚喜。
至於要証實被殺者身份, 也是必需的, 不過這些劇集則從沒有過白宮要考慮向傳媒發放死人照片這回事。
白宮正在認真考慮是否需要公開拉登的遺照。
美國一向高舉人權聖火, 他們有甚麼權去公開別人的死相?就算那個是犯人, 也有人權吧, 沒有人權, 個人的遺照的肖像權又有沒有呢? 又有幾多人有興趣看誰血肉模糊的遺照?(其實我相信為數不少)
如果為了讓世界相信那是拉登, 是徒然的, 不相信就是不相信,將拉登人頭放在眼前也都不會相信, 況且科技那麼先進要偽造一張相片是多麼的容易,真的也會有人當假。
公開拉登遺照, 不合乎公眾信益,因為更容易挑起仇恨情緒, 塔利班復仇行動一觸即發, 世界不會因為沒有拉登而變得更和平, 威廉王子夫婦有排都冇得渡蜜月。

If you think the whole business of releasing Bin Laden’s photo is just the pro-war nature of America, then you are being naïve. The majority of America does not want to see the pictures themselves, the issue was only brought up by (primarily Republican) politicians to score point against Obama’s administration. With GOP regaining control of Senate during mid-term election Obama’s prospect to be re-elected has been skeptical at best. However he mounted a major rebound suddenly with the latest turn of event which of course doesn’t sit well with many Republicans. By suggesting the release of the photo is a way to underscore Obama’s leadership because they know it will be a dilemma the government. It isn’t so much the politicians want to prove it to the world but more because it creates a no win situation for Obama’s administration no matter what their decision on the matter is.
Americans are no more or no less pacifist than the Brit, French, Chinese or Japanese, what we have here is just a case of oppositional politics at work
